As a mom entrepreneur, you’re likely juggling countless tasks—growing your business, raising your children, and everything in between. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed and question whether you’re cut out for this journey. If you’ve ever thought about throwing in the towel and going back to the corporate grind, believe me—you’re not alone!

In this episode, I’m diving into seven key mindset shifts that can help you push through those tough moments, keep your business thriving, and stay present for your family. Let’s get into it!

Mindset Shift #1: Embrace Imperfection

Before having kids, I identified as a perfectionist. But as a mom and entrepreneur, I realized that striving for perfection only held me back from achieving my big goals. I was constantly stuck in the details and not making progress.

One of the most important shifts you can make is to embrace imperfection. Progress is more important than perfection. As moms, we have limited time, so a 70% finished task that’s out in the world is far better than a perfect one still sitting on your to-do list.

Action Step: Shift from perfect to done. Set deadlines for your tasks to avoid overthinking and focus on getting things done.

Mindset Shift #2: Adopt a Growth Mindset

A growth mindset is the belief that you can develop your abilities through effort, learning, and persistence. As a mom entrepreneur, this means embracing challenges and seeing failures as opportunities for growth.

I’ve faced many challenges over the last two years that made me doubt my abilities. But reframing these setbacks as learning experiences instead of failures has been crucial to my growth.

Action Step: Reframe failures as learning opportunities. Ask yourself, “What can I learn from this?” when things don’t go as planned.

Mindset Shift #3: Set Boundaries and Protect Your Time

As moms, we’re constantly pulled in different directions—managing work, family, and household duties. Setting boundaries is essential to maintaining balance.

One of the most impactful things I’ve learned is that saying “no” to tasks that don’t align with my priorities creates space for the things that do. Time is our most valuable resource, and it’s important to protect it.

Action Step: Create non-negotiable work hours and communicate them to your family. Practice saying “no” to low-priority tasks or commitments that don’t serve your goals.

Mindset Shift #4: Focus on What You Can Control

It’s easy to get caught up in things we can’t control, like competition or market trends, but stressing over these factors only creates unnecessary anxiety. Instead, focus on what you can control, like your work ethic and how you respond to challenges.

Action Step: Identify your circle of control. Make a list of what’s in your power and refer to it when you feel stressed.

Mindset Shift #5: Practice Gratitude

Gratitude is a powerful mindset tool that shifts your focus from what’s going wrong to what’s going right. This small practice helps you stay motivated even when business is tough.

I recommend starting a gratitude journal where you jot down three things you’re grateful for each day—whether it’s a small win in your business or a joyful moment with your family.

Action Step: Start a gratitude journal and celebrate small wins regularly.

Mindset Shift #6: Surround Yourself with Support

Entrepreneurship can be isolating, especially for moms. Having a supportive network—whether it’s a mentor, a group of like-minded mompreneurs, or your family—can make a huge difference. They offer accountability, encouragement, and new perspectives.

Action Step: Find your “girl gang.” Join online communities, mastermind groups, or local networking events to connect with other mom entrepreneurs.

Mindset Shift #7: Give Yourself Permission to Rest

As mom entrepreneurs, we often feel pressured to fill every white space in our calendars with tasks. But this is a recipe for burnout! Taking time to rest is not a luxury—it’s essential for sustainable success.

One of my favorite ways to unwind is by playing a game or reading a book for 30 minutes before I pick up my kids. This small break helps me reset before diving into the chaos of after-school routines.

Action Step: Schedule downtime. Block off time for rest in your schedule, even if it’s just 30 minutes a day, to prevent burnout.

Mindset is Everything

The mindset shifts above are key to thriving as both a mom and an entrepreneur. They help you stay grounded, focused, and empowered to keep pushing forward even on the hardest days.
